Today Europe has received a patch for Modern Warfare 2. This patch was suppose to fix a bunch exploits in the game, such as:
    *  Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
    * Fix for "infinite care package" exploit
    * Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
    * Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
    * Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and "elevators"
    * Fixes to prevent various XP hacks
When the patch went live, something unexpected happened. The game kinda didn't work, well at least the most important part of the game, online multiplayer. This, of course, got many people upset and they pulled the patch. US will receive it when its all fixed.
If you haven't bought this game, I think it's about time you do. If you are still undecided about the game, there will be a demo for download soon in the PlayStation Network Store. There will also be a DLC available next Thursday, January 28th. The premium DLC will include a lot of new character skins for the game and will cost $4.99 in the US. It was previously expected to be free... but I guess Naughty Dog decided against it. The DLC will add Sev and Helghast soldier from Killzone 2, Cole (both good and evil version) and Zeke from InFamous, and a Chimera from Resistance 2.
Uncharted 2 dlc
Order from and you receive a free Big Daddy costume plus 10 dollars credit all for 55 dollars. This Big Daddy costume can be used in PlayStation Home and I think is a much better freebie than GameStop's extra multiplayer characters. Pre-order this game for free from Points2Shop. You can also get Free Microsoft Points and Free PSN Cards.
Not the greatest update ever, but you will get some cool releases. This update is only for Europe, though. Here is one of the better releases, Sony is offering a free entry to the ModNation Racers beta for those who download the title first, first 100,000 for that matter.

A day or two ago MAG beta has ended. Zipper Interactive, the developer behind the game, gave out some stats about the game. About one million players have downloaded the game. Out of those million people, 619,000 people gained at least one points of experience, 52,846 had enough points to become a Squad Leader, 10,249 became eligible for Platoon Leaders, 3,181 have reached the rank of Officer in Charge, and only 143 reached the level 60 experience cap. Looks like I was one of those 619,000 people who earned a couple of points and left the game. It's not that the game is bad, it just takes a lot of time to get used to. Another trailer for Gran Turismo 5 and another new cool car. Yet, the game is still not out. This time it was a new concept car, Toyota FT-86G.  Many suspect that the game is not released just yet, because with the new 3D television coming to market the game will come out at the same time and be in 3D. If you are interested in this game and want to preorder it and don't have enough cash. Join Points2Shop and preorder the game for free! Also get Free Microsoft Points and Free PSN Cards.
I downloaded Army of Two: The 40th Day a day or two and ago and I have to say, its not very different than the first one. The controls are not very intuitive and take long getting used to. The graphics are generally good, but not the best. I got bored about half way through the demo and quit.
Here are few reviews from some gaming sites:

  • IGN (85/100): "A disaster movie in a game package, Army of Two: The 40th Day capitalizes on its co-op play to deliver an awesome action experience that's incredibly fun to play."
  • Official Xbox 360 Magazine (80/100): "Marry that to some satisfyingly chunky gunplay and the odd spectacular, building-leveling explosion and you have an action game that is far more fun than it has any right to be. You get plenty of co-op games, but not that many 'buddy' games and this is a fine example - a frantic, punchy bullet-storm that's best enjoyed with a friend."
  • 1UP (B): "Even though I think they ultimately contributed to the Army of Two's inconsistent tone, which moves from "flippant" to "serious business about how messed up people can get," the morality moments are what I'll remember most about The 40th Day."
  • Game Informer (65/100): "With so many great co-op experiences available to gamers, it's tough to recommend The 40th Day. Lacking a cohesive story, solid controls, key multiplayer features, and polish, this sequel fails to close the gap of mediocrity running through its core game design."
